We follow the guidelines established by the leading health experts (including the World Health Organization)
to minimise any opportunity for Coronavirus exposure during your journey. We’ll have hand sanitiser readily
available, ensure enhanced cleaning in hotels and restaurants, and sanitise vehicles at every arrival and
departure (with a focus on high-frequency touchpoints such as door handles).
Cox & Kings private and small group journeys are well-suited to exploring with safe physical distancing in place:
we never overfill vehicles and we adhere to local guidelines on physical distancing with clients’ safety and
comfort as paramount. Moving forward, you’ll see your guides greet you with smiles instead of handshakes,
along with no-contact check-in/check-outs in many hotels and group dining arranged to allow for plenty of space
from other guests.
Cox and Kings small groups average just 14 guests, making it much easier to maintain cleaning and hygiene
procedures and ensure adequate physical distance between guests. On a custom tailor-made holiday, your
group size is completely up to you, of course, and you travel only with the people you choose on most activities.
On some Cox & Kings holidays, you may be requested to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), such as face
masks and gloves, in accordance with local health regulations. We encourage you to bring your own PPE, and you
are free to wear it even where local requirements do not make it mandatory. Your local Cox & Kings team will
also have a supply of PPE on hand where required.
In addition to being experts in your region’s culture, history and wildlife, your guides are fully versed in your
destination’s health regulations as well as Cox & Kings’ practices and protocols. They oversee the many
procedures that go into making your journey safe, from confirming the restaurants included in your itinerary are
freshly cleaned before you arrive to ensuring your luggage is always handled carefully between destinations.
Everyone involved in running your journey — from the guides you travel with to the drivers, baggage handlers
and others behind the scenes — observes a strict, round-the-clock health and safety regimen. That includes
regular staff health and temperature monitoring, as well as wearing PPE where necessary and in compliance
with local guidelines.
