With a tropical climate and a landscape of green palms and wildflowers, it is easy to see why Taveuni, Fiji’s third largest island, is known as the ‘Garden Island’. The 180th Meridian International Dateline once ran through Taveuni splitting the island into today and tomorrow but was a later moved off the coast; a plaque commemorating the former landmark can be visited.
