Danpaati River Lodge is set on its own little island deep in the rainforest on the Upper Suriname River, 200 kilometres south of Paramaribo. Guests can arrive by boat and road or by light aircraft flight to the airstrip at Botopasi, a 30-minute boat ride away. The accommodation is surrounded by dense forest and is in simple but comfortable cabins with views of the jungle or river. There is a bar-lounge and an outdoor pool and guests can also safely swim in the river from the island’s small beach. The lodge works in close partnership with the nearby local community and activities include jungle walks and village visits.
