The Eco Amazonia Lodge is situated on a private reserve boardering the Tambopata National Reserve, 2 hours by boat along the Madre de Dios river from Puerto Maldonado. The lodge features rustic bungalows, each with private bathroom, cold water showers and a screened sitting area with hammocks. There are several trails of varying length leading from the lodge, including a 3 hour hike to a canopy observation platform, and hikes to hidden lakes and lagoons. The lodge also offers boat tours along the Madres de Dios river and some of the smaller tributaries.

The lodge does not have regular electricity and lighting is provided by kerosene lamps and candles. A generator is turned on once a day from 5pm to 10pm for guests to recharge batteries, make use of electric fans or for lodge facilities. It is recommended to bring a torch with you as it is very dark at night.
