Caiman House is an eco-lodge providing basic accommodation, as well as being a field station. As a guest you have the opportunity to support and participate in an ongoing field study of black caimans, the largest members of the alligator family and an endangered species. Furthermore, Caiman House is the hub of several local development projects, including the introduction of classroom libraries in all three village schools in Yupukari as well as a public library with internet access. Visitors may have the opportunity to meet local craftspeople, such as the furniture builders at Yupukari Crafters, a non-profit venture intended to create village jobs and generate income in order to sustain educational development.
