This journey provides a special opportunity to experience the Galapagos islands and observe their remarkable wildlife at close quarters. See giant tortoises and a number of indigenous bird species, and swim with sea lions, penguins and perhaps even sea turtles. Explore the old colonial centre of Quito, and take optional excursions to visit a colourful local market or to see Ecuador’s most impressive volcano.

Standard Private Tour in brief

Day 1: Fly to Quito via Bogotá

Overnight flight from London to Quito via Bogotá with Avianca (regional connections available). (N)

Day 2: Quito

Late morning arrival. Transfer to the Hilton Colon for a 3-night stay. Rest of the day at leisure. (N)

Day 3: Quito

Morning tour of Quito’s historic centre and the Middle of the World equatorial line monument. (B)

Day 4: At leisure

Day at leisure. Optional excursions can be booked, such as a day tour into the Avenue of the Volcanoes or a visit to Otavalo and its indigenous market. (B)

Day 5: Fly to the Galapagos

Fly to the Galapagos islands and take for a 4-night cruise of these fascinating islands aboard the Seaman Journey, Treasure of Galapagos catamaran, or the small Odyssey yacht. (B, L, D)

Days 6-8: Galapagos

Shared excursions with a naturalist guide for close encounters with some of the most rare animals and birds, including land iguanas, giant tortoises, Darwin’s finches, boobies and flightless cormorants. The days are spent exploring islands with different characteristics to see the variety of wildlife and landscapes. (B, L, D)

Day 9: Fly to Guayaquil

Disembark the cruise and fly to Guayaquil. Transfer to the Wyndham Garden Guayaquil for 1 night. (B)

Day 10: Fly to London via Bogotá

Morning at leisure or optional tour of the city or a cacao plantation. Evening flight to London, via Bogotá with Avianca. (B)

Day 11: London

Afternoon arrival. (N)

    The Wyndham Garden Guayaquil is conveniently located within five minutes from the airport, and offers a complimentary shuttle bus service. Rooms are elegantly furnished with modern amenities and premium bedding. Guests can relax in the small terrace area with a jet pool or enjoy both local and international cuisine in the onsite restaurant. Features: 136 rooms, restaurant/bar, gym, jacuzzi pool. Room amenities: Television, air conditioning, coffee machine, Wi-Fi.

    Treasure of Galapagos

    The Treasure of Galapagos is a small catamaran that accommodates 16 passengers in nine comfortable cabins, each with private balcony. The yacht offers spacious outdoor areas featuring a sun deck with whirlpool, a bar and shaded awning, which is ideal for alfresco dining. Indoor facilities include a dining area, lounge and bar with panoramic windows as well as a comfortable lounge space. Complimentary snorkelling equipment is provided.

  • Seaman Journey 3 Night/ 4 Day
    Seaman Journey 3 Night/ 4 Day

    The Seaman Journey is a first-class expeditionary catamaran. A maximum of 16 passengers can be accommodated in eight air-conditioned comfortable cabins with private bathrooms. Onboard facilities include spacious sundecks, a bar-lounge, and inside and outside dining areas. Snorkelling equipment and kayaks are provided free of charge. Wetsuits can be hired for a small daily charge and we recommend this is requested in advance. Full board is provided for your stay on the Seaman Journey. The cost of beverages and Galapagos taxes of $100 are not included and are payable locally. Payment on board can be made in cash only. Card payments are not accepted. The itinerary is subject to change due to weather conditions, readjustment of national park policies or at the captain's decision to take the best advantage of seasonal changes. All excursions from your cruise are on a group basis.

    Hilton Colon Quito

    The Hilton Colon Guayaquil is located in the commercial area of the city, only five minutes drive from the airport. Facilities include a restaurant, bar, health club and swimming pool.

For all other departure dates, once the minimum number of people booked has been reached, this tour is also guaranteed to run. Our sales consultants will be able to advise how many people are booked for your chosen date at the time of enquiry, giving you the confidence to book safe in the knowledge your tour will go ahead.
