Dating from the late 16th century, Hacienda Zuleta is a traditional working farm that has belonged to the family of a former president of Ecuador for more than 100 years. Located two hours north of Quito, the hacienda sits at 2,800 metres above sea level and is surrounded by the spectacular Ecuadorian Andes. The beautifully decorated guestrooms all have their own fireplace and cosy living room, and some have their own private garden. The restaurant serves Ecuadorian cuisine prepared with organic vegetables, trout and dairy products produced on the farm. A number of activities can be booked during your stay including hiking, horse riding and birdwatching. The hacienda's Condor Huasi project has been making efforts to protect the surrounding flora and fauna for the conservation of the Andean condor, spectacled bear, puma and other native wildlife.
