Standard Private Tour in brief

Days 1-2: Fly to Bogotá

Fly overnight direct to Bogotá and stay 2 nights at NH Royal Pavillon (with immediate occupancy). Take a guided tour of the mountain capital including the Gold Museum and Monserrat Hill. (B)

Days 3-4: Fly to Cuzco • Sacred Valley

Fly from Bogotá direct to Cuzco in Peru. Continue by road to the Sacred Valley for a 2-night stay at San Agustin Urubamba. Optional visit to Ollantaytambo fortress, Maras salt pans, a local market and local Quechua communities to learn about their customs and life. (B)

Day 5: Machu Picchu

Travel by train to Machu Picchu. Explore the ruins and stay overnight at El MaPi. (B,D)

Day 6: Cuzco:

This morning, there is the option to further explore the ruins or take a short hike. Take an afternoon train journey back to Cuzco. Stay 2 nights at Los Portales. (B)

Day 7: Cuzco:

Explore the former Inca capital. (B)

Days 8-9: Fly to Lima

Fly to Lima for a 2-night stay and take a guided city of the tour. Optional excursions include the fascinating Larco Museum and a visit to a local fruit and vegetable market. (B)

Days 10-12: Fly to Cartagena

Fly to Cartagena, on Colombia’s Caribbean coast, for a 3-night stay at in the old town at a property such as Kartaxa. Discover the colonial charms of this colourful former port and take an optional boat trip to Rosario islands. (B)

Days 13-14: Fly home

Return to Bogotá to connect to an overnight flight to London with Avianca. (B)

Extensions or alternatives:

It is possible to add further explorations in Peru, such as visits to Lake Titicaca, Arequipa and the Colca Canyon or the Amazon basin. Meanwhile, in Colombia spend some time in the white-washed town of Villa de Leyva, visit the Coffee region, include a stay in the cities of Medellin or Cali or extend with a few days on the unspoilt beaches of the Tayrona National Park on the Caribbean coast.
