Located within a 9,000-hectare private reserve, the Corocora Camp is a luxurious tented retreat that offers an exclusive experience of the rich biodiversity of the vast Los Llanos plains. The four spacious African-style tents are decorated with handicrafts and fabrics crafted by local artisans, and feature a shaded private terrace with chairs and a hammock. Designed to offer utmost comfort and service while minimizing environmental impact, the camp has its own running water powered by generators and solar panels, and portable battery packs are available to charge devices overnight. There is no Wi-Fi at the property to encourage guests to connect with nature and appreciate the tranquillity of the surrounding wilderness. The social tent contains a communal dining area and a relaxation area, complete with sofas and a selection of board and lawn games. Traditional Colombian dishes are served with a focus on local ingredients and Los Llanos cooking methods.
The camp offers a range of safari opportunities by 4×4, horseback or canoe to spot wildlife such as capybaras, anacondas, giant anteaters, monkeys, and hundreds of species of birds including the jabiru, snowy egret and the scarlet ibis. Guests can also gain an authentic insight into the region’s culture by spending a day with a local llanero (Colombian cowboy), trying their hand at the lasso or enjoying traditional music and dancing by the bonfire.
