Located 16km from the airport, the Hotel Plaza San Francisco is situated on the busy O'Higgins Avenue in the heart of the city's downtown area. This elegant hotel has traditional decor, with richly coloured fabric wallpaper, oriental rugs and subdued lighting. Facilities at the hotel include a restaurant serving award-winning cuisine, a bar, swimming pool, fitness centre and spa.
Hotel Lago Grey is located in the heart of Torres del Paine National Park. It offers spectacular views over Lake Grey and its glacier, and the mountains can be seen in the distance. There are five bungalow blocks that house the rooms, a restaurant, bar and lounge.
Hotel CostAustralis was designed by a local architect who planned the entire facade with floor-to-ceiling windows that face on to the sound, which means that there are spectacular sweeping views from the bar, the restaurant and the lounge. With 110 rooms, the CostAustralis is the town’s largest hotel, but it retains a certain cosiness with its grass cloth wallpaper offset by wooden trim and ceilings, plants and soft lighting. Facilities include a restaurant, room service and a laundry service.
In 1962, the Cabo de Hornos was built as the first grand hotel in Punta Arenas. Within walking distance of the major areas of interest, the hotel is located on the main plaza in the heart of the city and has a direct view of the Strait of Magellan. The hotel has 110 rooms and amenities include a restaurant serving regional and international cuisine, a bar, room service and laundry facilities.
The lakeside Cabaña del Lago Hotel is close to the centre of Puerto Varas and offers sweeping views of the town and the Osorno volcano. Its location is best appreciated from the restaurant, which overlooks the lake and surrounding scenery. The bar offers a cosy alpine ambience with outdoor fire burners and ponchos provided for cooler evenings. Rooms are spacious and feature traditional colourful Chilean textiles and artwork.
Tucked away outside the town centre and surrounded by big, quiet presence of the Andes, you have no choice but to bask in the luxury and tranquillity around every corner. Designed to fade into its surroundings to let nature shine, Hotel Altiplanico was constructed with all local materials in a mix of indigenous and Spanish architecture. Whether you wind through the gardens, rent a bike or lay by the pool you´ll get a sense of the grand mystery of the driest desert in the world. You just might not want to leave your old-world inspired desert home with outdoor terraces, some with outdoor showers to fully enjoy the desert sky.
