The Txai Resort is located 48km north of Ilheus near the village of Itacare on the Bahian coast. It is 400km south of Salvador and a 45-minute drive from Ilheus airport. Set on a 100-hectare coconut plantation, the resort is surrounded by the beach of Itacarezinho and the unspoilt Atlantic rainforest. It is an eco-friendly resort where rustic simplicity meets luxury on a stretch of undeveloped coastline.
Each of its 14 rooms and 26 thatched bungalows offer luxurious and spacious accommodation, with ample seating areas, a desk, terrace, air conditioning, safe, minibar and CD player. The 14 rooms are housed together in a three-storey building located in the palm grove by the swimming pool, while the bungalows are built on stilts and scattered along the hillside and among coconut groves. The Special Bungalows have an outdoor jacuzzi and two sofa beds and the two Superior Bungalows have a private plunge pool. Bungalows on the hillside offer the best ocean views.
The Bahian style restaurant, located near the beach, serves local and international cuisine and the breakfast buffet comprises a selection of tropical fruit, cakes, breads and juices. At the hotel, there is a range of pampering treatments available in the hilltop spa, a reading room for relaxation and a television room with a DVD player, as these facilities are not available in the rooms and bungalows. Wander around the grounds and along the beach, swim in the pool or play tennis on the hotel's courts.
