Argentina is a diverse country with many sights that can be explored in varied ways.

Starting your tailor-made itinerary in Buenos Aires, the European-esque capital, spend a couple of days exploring the colourful La Boca district and watch tango dancers break out on the cobbled streets. You can also visit the impressive Recoleta Cemetery, where Eva Peron is buried. If you’d prefer to venture away from the capital, you can visit an estancia in Las Pampas or travel to Colonia in Uruguay for the day.

From Buenos Aires you can fly to Iguazú Falls, enjoying the falls from either the Brazilian side or staying on the Argentinian side. Look down into the abyss at Devil’s Throat, and experience the falls at dawn or sunset while the park is closed when you stay at the Gran Meliá Iguazú inside the national park.

Northern Argentina offers a variety of desert landscapes including rainbow-coloured cliffs in Purmamarca; the vast Salinas Grandes salt flats; red clay dunes and turquoise Ojos del Mar lagoons at Tolar Grande; a sanctuary for flamingos at Laguna Grande; and the wine estates in Cafayate.

You will find a complete contrast in the south of Argentina, where glaciers rise over 70 metres tall and extend over 5km wide. The Perito Moreno glacier in El Calafate is one of the largest in Patagonia and can be viewed from surrounding observation platforms or onboard a cruise that runs alongside the ice wall.

On a tailor-made itinerary to Argentina, you can access Patagonia from Bariloche, a charming Swiss alpine-style town, which lies on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi. From here you can explore the Lake District and travel into Chile or continue further south towards ‘the end of the world’, Ushuaia, and visit the Tierra del Fuego National Park.

Finally, if you’re interested in what cuisine and wines Argentina has to offer, we would recommend visiting San Antonio de Areco in Las Pampas where you can experience some typical gaucho traditions and enjoy an asado for lunch. Alternatively, travel to Mendoza where world-famous vineyards dominate the landscape.
