On approaching Iguazú Falls, a faint but thunderous roar can be heard and you will see a mist hovering over the jungle, indicating the site of the ‘Great Waters’ (Iguazú Falls in the Guarani Indian language).
Of all the natural wonders that South America has to offer these gigantic waterfalls, which lie on the borders of Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil, are surely the most magnificent. Every second nearly 450,000 gallons of water crashes down over a distance of 4 kilometres in hundreds of subsidiary falls.
