Day 2: Fly to Mt Hagen via Port MoresbyFly from Singapore to Mount Hagen via Port Moresby, then drive through the highlands to Rondon Ridge. Afternoon guided nature walk and birdwatching. Stay 3 nights at Rondon Ridge. (D)
Days 3-4: Mt HagenDiscover the traditions and customs of the Melpa people of the Wahgi Valley. (B, L, D)
Day 5: Fly to KarawariFly to Karawari and stay at the Karawari Lodge for 3 nights. Visit the Kundiman village for a sago making demonstration. (B, L, D)
Days 6-7: Karawari riverJourney along the Karawari river to visit small riverside villages, and see carved totems, drums and woodcarvings. Look out for plentiful birdlife along the way. (B, L, D)
Day 8: Fly to Mt HagenFly to Mt Hagen and transfer to Rondon Ridge for 1 night. During this stay you will enjoy the nature trails near the lodge on a guided excursion. (B, L, D)
Day 9: Fly to Kokopo via Port MoresbyFly from Mt Hagen to Port Moresby. Lunch (at own expense) before flying to Tokua airport. Stay at the Kokopo Beach Bungalow Resort for 3 nights. (B, D)
Day 10: KokopoJoin a cruise in search of dolphins and sail through the turquoise waters to the Duke of York Island. Interact with local islanders, swim in the aqua waters and have lunch on the sandy beach. (B, L, D)
Day 11: KokopoVisit several Japanese second world war sites, an active hot spring and the Rabaul Volcano Observatory for views of the volcanoes. (B, L, D)

The remote Karawari Lodge is only accessible via its private airstrip or the Karawari river. Accommodation is in 10 separate cottages containing two rooms, each built out of local bush materials and inspired by traditional architecture. Each cottage has two private twin rooms, each with modern en suite bathrooms and a communal veranda. The dining and lounge areas, the bar and a vast collection of Sepik artefacts are housed in Karawari's main lodge building, designed and built in the form of a traditional 'haus tambaran' or spirit house. Features: 20 rooms, restaurant, bar, gift shop. Room amenities: Mosquito-netted beds, ceiling fans, hot & cold water.
