Standard Group Tour in brief

Day 1: Fly to Las Vegas

Fly directly from London (regional connections available) to Las Vegas with British Airways. On arrival, transfer to Treasure Island Hotel & Casino for 1 night. (N)

Day 2: Zion & Bryce Canyon National Parks

Depart for Zion National Park, stopping at Zion Lodge for lunch (at own expense). Continue to Bryce Canyon for a moderate hike on the Navajo Loop. As you walk between the narrow walls of colourful limestone, you’re met by views of sprawling, evergreen Douglas firs. See the park’s most famous hoodoo, Thor’s Hammer. Overnight at Best Western Plus Bryce Canyon Grand Hotel. (B, D)

Day 3: Horseshoe Bend & Lake Powell

This morning, enjoy a walk along the rim of Bryce Canyon, then travel to Lake Powell. En route, you will stop for panoramic views of an astonishing man-made lake, as well as Horseshoe Bend – one of the most photographed sites in the South West – where thegreen waters of the Colorado River have forged a horseshoe shape through the Navajo Sandstone. Overnight at Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas. (B)

Day 4: Antelope Canyon & Monument Valley

Visit Antelope Canyon: a labyrinth of tall, winding rock walls forming one of the most spectacular slot canyons in the world. Your tour continues to Monument Valley, where a 4×4 experience allows you to view the valley’s famous sandstone buttes – some of which reach heights of 300m. Overnight at Kayenta Monument Valley Inn. Day 5: Canyon de Chelly & Petrified Forest

Transfer to Canyon de Chelly, famed for its multihued sandstone walls – a tapestry of crimson, ambers and oranges. Take a leisurely horse ride inside the canyon with a Navajo guide, the relaxed pace allowing you to soak up your surroundings. Enjoy a local taco lunch before travelling to the Petrified Forest, known for its large deposits of petrified vegetation. Overnight at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Holbrook Petrified Forest. Day 6: Sedona

Your first stop today is the Meteor Crater Natural Landmark, where you learn about the history and geology of the meteorite which plunged into this corner of Arizonan desert some 50,000 years ago. This afternoon, explore the red rocks of Sedona during an off-road adventure in a custom-built 4×4. You are rewarded with dramatic landscapes, twisting paths and rugged trails. Admire the extraordinary views of Arizona’s scenic terrain and see the Cow Pies, distinctive rocks that have played a part in many westerns. Overnight at Element Sedona. (B)

Day 7: Grand Canyon

Your morning is at leisure, giving you time to relax, go for a hike or join an optional excursion (at own expense). This afternoon, head to the Grand Canyon, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. If time permits, see this impressive sight as the sun starts to set. Stay overnight at Holiday Inn Express & Suites. (B)

Day 8: Williams, Seligman & Kingman

Begin the day by seeing the Grand Canyon at sunrise with the opportunity to walk within the Canyon’s Rim. before travelling to Williams, Arizona. From here, explore many historic buildings, and shops brimming with Route 66 memorabilia. Stop at Seligman, replete with retro neon signs, classic cars and nostalgic landmarks. Finish the day in Kingman, where you overnight at Best Western Plus King’s Inn & Suites. (B)

Day 9: Las Vegas

Drive to Las Vegas and visit The Mob Museum, where hundreds of artefacts and immersive exhibits provide insight into the history and impact of organised crime in the US. Overnight at Treasure Island. (B)

Days 10-11: Fly to the UK

Transfer to the airport and fly overnight to London, arriving the following day. (B)
