Located just 2 hours’ drive from Vancouver, in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia, Whistler is a year-round mountain resort. Named after the hoary marmots that inhabit the area and make a whistling noise, the town is overlooked by two majestic mountains and features four championship golf courses, numerous restaurants and bars, pampering spas and was the setting for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

The latest from Compass - our online travel magazine
"We arrived back to London yesterday, to find (of course) a huge pile of work to cope with, but we wanted to let you know immediately that your advice and assistance with the planning of our trip to India - combined with expertise and enthusiasm of the local Cox & Kings teams in Delhi, Jaipur, Agra and Shimla - resulted in a most interesting, rewarding and enjoyable experience for all three of us.
"The whole Explora experience really is something special and I think pretty good value for money. I was the only person doing the Travesia from El Chalten to Torres del Paine - it was fantastic!
Mr. Peter Kudirka"
"As a couple in our sixties, the trek was an experience of a lifetime. We would like to express our sincere thanks to our fantastic guide Prem - his local knowledge and his enthusiasm simply made the holiday perfect. Thank you very much for an extremely enjoyable holiday.
"We have just returned from our trip to India and wanted to say a big thank you to you for all your help. You were terrific.
"We have had many holidays in different parts of the world, but this certainly ranks among the best. Thank you once again for your help and patience in organising it.

"The sightseeing was fantastic - I really enjoyed this part. The sights really lived up to the expectations I had of it. The guides were very informative and provided an extra dimension to the trip. The hotels were excellent. The tour guides did their jobs well and always arrived on time, which I greatly appreciated.

"Everything went so smoothly, the tour was very well-organised and excellent value for money.

"Our first evening in Khiva was magical. We walked by ourselves in the almost deserted streets of the old city and felt transported in another world, with the beautiful mosques and madrassas rising in the dying light. There were many amazing moments during the group visits but I would pick the climb to the Zoroastrian tower of silence near Nukus, looking at the great Oxus river and thinking of the flow and ebb of the ancient civilisations and cultures that were built and destroyed over the centuries in this now forgotten heart of Central Asia.
Dr Mireille Levy"
"Apart from the beauty of Costa Rica as a whole, I really enjoyed the Panama Canal trip and then visiting the Miraflores Locks the following day. Having learned about it as a child, it was just great to experience it 'for real'. It was fascinating to see everything working in virtually the same way as it has done for the past 100 years! I found the the museum/information centre excellent.
Ms Merryl Graham"
"Excellent holiday and great hotels. Excellent guides and drivers as always. We always recommend Cox & Kings to others.

"There were so many highlights it is hard to mention just one. The visit to the gold treasury in the Hermitage was a highlight.
