High in the Canadian Rockies, the small town of Banff was established in the 1800s as a holiday destination for wealthy Victorians. Attractions of the town include the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies, detailing the history of Banff, the Buffalo Nations Luxton Museum, with displays telling the story of the first inhabitants of the Banff area, and the Banff Gondola, for rides to the top of Sulphur Mountain and panoramic views across the region.
