Located in the rugged wilderness of northern Canada, Blachford Lake Lodge is only accessible by air from Yellowknife. The scenic flight provides views over glaciers, rivers and waterfalls and may also offer the chance of an aerial sighting of moose and bears. Blachford Lake Lodge has five large guestrooms with access to shared showers and washrooms, two viewing decks and a communal lounge with bar, dining room and library. There are also five log cabins for a more rustic stay, each with its own lake view. Hike, fish, or kayak on the nearby lake and, from mid-August, the northern lights may be visible. In 2011, Prince William and Catherine visited as part of their royal tour of Canada.
