Selva Negra Ecolodge is located on a 6 sq km private nature reserve comprising unspoiled cloud forest and a sustainable coffee plantation and farm. European settlers in the 19th century were key to establishing the coffee industry in this area and the current owners are themselves coffee producers and descendents of German settlers. We recommend staying in the simple and comfortable private bungalows or larger family-sized chalets that are set in forested grounds, all with their own private porch. The lodge restaurant offers a menu of local and international dishes, and many items are organically produced on the estate. The lodge also offers internet access. Within the nature reserve are marked nature trails allowing you to explore the cloud forest alone or with a nature or birding guide and you can also take a coffee tour to learn about the production process, visit the coffee museum dedicated to the history and culture ...
