Fly to Muscat and transfer to the The Chedi for 3 nights. (N)
This morning take a private tour of Muscat including visits to the Royal Opera House, the fish market, Muttrah souk, Bait Al Zubair museum and the Grand Mosque. Photo stops will be made at Al Alam Palace and the forts of Mirani and Jalali. Afternoon at leisure. (B)
Board your own private catamaran and sail north of Muscat towards the marine nature reserve of the Daymaniyat islands. Swim and snorkel in the clear waters with lunch served on board. Later, sail along the coastline to enjoy the sunset and return to your hotel. (B, L)
Drive to the desert via the fishing village of Quriyat; a limestone crater filled with turquoise water; and Wadi Shab, a palm-fringed lagoon. After lunch at Sur, continue to Sharqiya Sands for Omani coffee in a Bedouin camp and experience dune bashing. Stay overnight at the Desert Nights Camp*. (B, L, D)
Drive into the cooler climates of the Al Hajar mountains, stopping en route at an uninhabited village to explore its orchards and brick houses. Continue to the Alila Jabal Akhdar or Anantara Jabal Akhdar for a 3-night stay. Perched at 2,000 metres above sea level, these luxury resorts are a tranquil base from which to explore the area. (B)
Early morning visit to Nizwa’s cattle market† before exploring the round fort and the souk. Continue to the 17th-century Jabrin fort and have lunch near to Jabal Shams, the highest peak in the mountains. Afternoon at leisure. (B, L)
Day at leisure. Relax in the infinity pool, go for a gentle hike, take in the spectacular views and enjoy the spa facilities (payable locally). (B)
Transfer to Muscat airport and fly to Salalah. Transfer to Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara for 3 nights. (B)
Two days at leisure. Relax by the pool or wander along the private beach. Alternatively, book an excursion to experience some of the local sights like the frankincense trail, Bin Ali’s tomb, the lost city of Ubar or tropical farms. (B)
