Just a short distance from the royal palace, Djemaa el Fna Square and the colourful souks, Les Jardins de la Médina is a former riad which was converted 15 years ago into a boutique hotel, adding modern touches in keeping with its 19th-century architecture. This historic residence has, over the years, welcomed distinguished guests such as Oum Kalthoum, Winston Churchill and Empress Farah Pahlavi. Today it continues to offer the same distinguished ambience, providing a tranquil oasis amid the buzz of the medina. The hotel has 36 rooms and suites which combine traditional character with the amenities of a modern hotel, all encircling a cool, verdant garden with 100-year-old palm, orange, and olive trees as well as an immense jacaranda tree. Facilities include a swimming pool, hammam and spa with masseur on hand. The restaurant serves a variety of Mediterranean and Moroccan specialities.
