Drive to the Allenby Bridge and cross the border into Israel. Continue on the 50-kilometre drive to Jerusalem. Stay at the Dan Boutique Hotel for 3 nights. (B)

DAY 9: Jerusalem

Full-day tour exploring the ancient city of Jerusalem, whose history dates back more than 3,000 years. The numerous highlights and attractions include a visit to the Mount of Olives for a panoramic view over the city and a stop at Mount Zion to visit King David's tomb, the room of the Last Supper. A day at leisure. Visit the Israel Museum, one of the country's most important cultural and historical institutions where the Dead Sea Scrolls are displayed. Alternatively visit the ancient fortifications of Masada, a fortress and palace built by King Herod the Great on a rocky mountain top (payable locally). (B)
