Known also as Akko (Hebrew) and Akka (Arabic), Acre is a coastal city in the far north of Israel, with Haifa just to the south and the Sea of Galilee to the east. One of the oldest continuously inhabited sites in Israel, the various inhabitants over the centuries have left their mark on the cities culture and architecture. Acre is notable for its protective sea walls, rebuilt and reinforced from crusader foundations, Knights Hall and the Templars Tunnel.
