Luxury Private Tour in brief

Day 1: Fly to Lima

Fly from London (regional connections available) to Lima with British Airways and transfer to the boutique Atemporal for an overnight stay. (N)

Day 2: Fly to Cuzco • Sacred Valley

Morning tour of Lima’s colonial centre. Afternoon flight to Cuzco and continue to the Sacred Valley for a 2-night stay at the Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba, offering superb views of the valley. (B)

Day 3: Sacred Valley

Visit the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo, an astounding feat of construction and ingenuity. Afternoon at leisure or take an optional tour to a local community, the Maras salt flats or the circular terraces at Moray. (B)

Day 4: Machu Picchu

Drive to Ollanta and take the Vistadome train to Machu Picchu (or upgrade to the Belmond Hiram Bingham train). Tour the spectacular ruins and stay overnight at the Sumaq / Inkaterra Machu Picchu. (B, L, D)

Day 5: Cuzco

Morning at leisure or further explore Machu Picchu (purchase ticket at time of booking). Return by rail to Cuzco and transfer to the Palacio del Inka, a Luxury Collection Hotel, for 2 nights. Upgrade to the Belmond Hotel Monasterio from £135. (B)

Day 6: Cuzco

Half-day tour of Cuzco, including the cathedral and the impressive Inca temple of Koricancha. (B)

Day 7: Luxury train to Lake Titicaca

Board the luxurious Belmond Andean Explorer for a 2-night journey to Arequipa via Lake Titicaca. Relax over lunch as you pass high Andean peaks, mountain streams and cultivated terraces. Stop off at the pre-Incan site of Rachi and watch the sun set over La Raya mountain range. Day 8: Lake Titicaca • Luxury train to Arequipa

Watch the sun rise over Lake Titicaca before a full-day visit to the floating Uros reed islands and Taquile to discover traditional music and ancient weaving techniques. In the evening, the train continues on its journey. (B, L, D)

Day 9: Arequipa • Fly to Lima

Wake to spellbinding views of Lake Lagunillas. Visit ancient rock paintings, spot vicuñas and soak up spectacular views of volcanoes and altiplano scenery on the final leg to Arequipa. Brief panoramic tour of the ‘White City’ before flying to Lima for a final night at the Atemporal. (B, L)
