Hurghada was once a simple fishing village but now, with its shimmering sands and untouched reefs, it has become a popular Red Sea holiday destination. The waters contain a dazzling array of coral and tropical fish, where snorkelling and glass-bottomed boats offer a close-up view of the fascinating and colourful marine life. Away from the beach, Hurghada’s bazaar area is good for shopping and the downtown El Dahar area offers a selection of international and local restaurants. Further afield, desert excursions include camel rides and 4×4 safaris.
