"All my life I was dreaming of seeing Petra and I finally managed to get there. Hassan, our guide had in depth knowledge and although I would have loved to spend a lot more time there he managed to show us a great deal. As a taster it was great and I will return on my own and probably stay for a week!! But as a whole every place we visited was a highlight.

"Difficult to choose! Seeing the beautiful colonial buildings, some beautifully retsored and others, often still inhabited, crumbling around us. Also, visiting the Monumento Ernesto Che Guervara and hearing the passion in our guide's voice as she explained about the battle of Santa Clara. My husband would say the old cars!
Mrs Jane Jowitt"
"The guide was the most impressive of all. She always responded to our individual needs and made the journey and tour very comfortable and enjoyable. She was a guide, a singer, a dancer, and above all a friend.

"The first sight of Macchu Picchu through the clouds was amazing. The descending cloud made a magical place all the more mysterious and mystic. Truly magical experience.

"The landscapes of Namibia were more than I had imagined and the people so friendly. All your hotels and lodges were perfect but you left the best till last - The Africat Foundation! This was a truly memorable experience and I hope you keep it in your tours for others to enjoy. Once again, many thanks for a wonderful holiday. We will certainly use Cox and Kings again!

"Our first evening in Khiva was magical. We walked by ourselves in the almost deserted streets of the old city and felt transported in another world, with the beautiful mosques and madrassas rising in the dying light. There were many amazing moments during the group visits but I would pick the climb to the Zoroastrian tower of silence near Nukus, looking at the great Oxus river and thinking of the flow and ebb of the ancient civilisations and cultures that were built and destroyed over the centuries in this now forgotten heart of Central Asia.

"The Taj Mahal was fantastic, the people in India were overwhelming, they made me feel very humble.

"The visit to the Temple of the Tooth in Kandi made a deep impression on me. It was intensely crowded with devout Buddhists and I was in the middle of the crush when the doors of the casket opened, yet felt perfectly safe. I have a high regard for the gentle Sri Lankan people. I find tea plantations exceptionally beautiful, and am thrilled with the rich colours and patterns of the small fruit and spice stalls.

"We planned the trip with Cox & Kings over an extended period and the whole experience surpassed anything that we could have imagined. We have never been treated so courteously, professionally and enthusiastically. It was truly a holiday of a lifetime.
