The islands of the Karimunjawa archipelago lie 80km north of mainland Java in the Java Sea. The two main islands are Karimunjawa Island and Kemujan Island, where there is an airport receiving flights from Semareng in Java. Some islands are home to luxury hotel accommodation while other, smaller islands are uninhabited. Visitors to this remote part of Indonesia are rewarded with stunning white sand beaches, and superb snorkelling over pristine coral reefs
