Drive to the ancient city of Anuradhapura. For 1,400 years this was Sri Lanka’s capital and contains fabulous Buddhist shrines and relics. (B)

DAY 5: Sigiriya • Kandy

Sigiriya • Kandy

Early morning drive to the ruined city of Sigiriya with its impressive palace-fortress high up on a protruding column of rock. Continue to Kandy and stay 3 nights at Kandy House. (B)

Morning visit to the Temple of the Tooth, a Buddhist temple which houses the relic of the tooth of Buddha. Afternoon visit to the Peradeniya botanical gardens. (B)

Spend a day at leisure either relaxing at your hotel or exploring Kandy. (B)

DAY 8: Koslanda

Early morning drive to Koslanda via a tea plantation. Stay at Living Heritage Koslanda, featuring its own tea plantation, for 2 nights. (B)

Day at leisure to relax or take part in some of the experiences on offer at the hotel including cooking classes, hikes to the nearby waterfall and other walks through the forest. (B)
