Accommodation rating: Good Standard

Originally the holiday home of Sri Lanka's first Prime Minister, The Firs, surrounded by rolling hills and working tea estates, is about an hour away from the Horton Plains National Park and a short drive from the town of Nuwara Eliya. The main bungalow, which was built over 100 years ago, still retains its old-world charm and much of its colonial character. The 3 rooms and 2 suites are elegantly decorated by combining period style furniture with modern conveniences. The hotel has a restaurant, a bar and offers in-room dining as well.
