Perched on a terraced hillside overlooking the picturesque village of Nuwakot, Famous Farm is a simple, atmospheric, converted farmhouse that retains much of its original Newari design and character. The 13 individually decorated, simply furnished rooms are spread across three buildings, which are set around a courtyard. Except for two rooms, all others have en suite facilities.
Accommodation at the Famous Farm includes all meals, which are usually served in the courtyard. The resident chef prepares a variety of Nepalese homecooked meals with mostly fresh, local produce. There is also a small selection of western dishes. Facilities at this hotel include a cosy dining room (this is only used when the weather does not permit the use of the courtyard) and a bar that serves beer and house wine. Special dietary requirements need to be requested at the time of booking.
The farmhouse retains much of its traditional-style architecture, which means the rooms and corridors feature narrow, low doorways. Despite erratic power supply, the Famous Farm does not use electric generators; however, they provide torches in the rooms.
