Travel into the heart of Kipling’s India and follow the trail of the endangered Royal Bengal tiger. Embark on safari drives in the national parks of Kanha, Bandhavgarh and Pench, guided by expert naturalists. Staying in superior wilderness lodges, you will experience first-hand the wildlife and landscapes that so inspired The Jungle Book.

Two full days of wildlife viewing. Famous for its tigers, the park is also home to chausinghas, wild boars and elusive leopards. The park is enjoying a golden period, with sightings of tigers the best it has been for many years. (B, L, D)

DAY 6: Kanha National Park

Drive to Kanha and spend 3 nights at the Chitvan Jungle Lodge / Kanha Earth Lodge*. Both lodges offer a relaxing haven in the jungle, and you will be lulled to sleep by the sounds of the forest at night. (B, L, D)

One of the inspirations for Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book, Kanha is a former hunting ground for high-ranking British army officers. There is a wide variety of wildlife here including tigers, leopards and langur monkeys. (B, L, D)
