Khejarla holidays

The village of Khejarla, located between Jaipur and Jodhpur, with its rural setting and idyllic location is a perfect base from which to explore rural Rajasthan. In 1611 Thakur Gopal Das Ji was granted Khejarla for defending Marwar against invaders. Driving through the dusty and sleepy village there is no hint that a stunning fort awaits until the main entrance is reached. Khejarla is home to the popular Bishnois, a community of nature worshippers. The village has a memorial for Amrita Devi, a Bishnoi woman, and 362 of her people who were killed in the 18th century, trying to stop a medieval chieftain logging wood for his palace.
