Built in the late 1930s, The Gateway Hotel Ramgarh Lodge Jaipur (previously Ramgarh Lodge) was once the favourite hunting retreat of the Maharaja of Jaipur. Located around 40 km from Jaipur, this rustic lodge set in the forested Aravalli exudes an air of history. The lodge was converted into a hotel in the late 1980s and is now managed by the Taj group of hotels. All 13 rooms and suites are spacious, comfortably furnished, combine history with contemporary style and overlook either the rugged Aravalli Mountains or the landscaped gardens. Other facilities include a dining room with a colonial atmosphere, outdoor swimming pool and tennis court.
Once the summer residence of the rulers of Shahpura, Shahpura Bagh is comprised of two residences. Set among 45 acres of garden and surrounded by lakes, the estate is located in an unspoilt part of Rajasthan, between Jaipur and Udaipur. The main house (Nahar Niwas) is where the Shahpura family reside and where meals are served; alternatively a private dining option is available. Umaid Niwas, the restored guest house, is where the rooms are located. Originally built to house visiting nobility, the rooms in the guest house are light and airy, with high ceilings and large windows. The rooms vary in size and shape, but they are all elegantly furnished and equipped with modern amenities such as electronic safes and air-conditioning. Excursions trace the history of the region through neighbouring forts and legends.
Pride Plaza Hotel offers a comfortable stay just 2.5 miles from Delhi International airport. Guests can enjoy an outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre and spa as well as modern amenities. Features: 385 rooms, swimming pool, restaurant and bar, spa, fitness centre, Wi-Fi. Room amenities: Air-conditioning, minibar, television, hairdryer.
Located outside of Bikaner, approximately a 30-minute drive from the city centre, the Gajner Palace is a huge former palace set in a wildlife sanctuary beside a lake. The magnificent carved red sandstone walls surround a garden courtyard with 30 rooms. There is also a honeymoon lodge set separately in the grounds. Delicious Rajasthani cuisine is served in the dining room, which once served as a ballroom for the Maharaja.
Chanoud Garh is a delightful 300 year old palace ornamented with delicate filigree work and surrounded by regal courtyards and walls painted with colourful murals. The 10 rooms are all individually designed and provide an intimate atmosphere for an authentic and palatial stay in a remote region of Rajasthan. The rooms combine modern amenities with original features, which include stain-glass windows, stone archways and wooden furniture. Original recipes that once served Royalty are still used in the kitchen for a wonderful dining experience. Features: 10 rooms, dining room, courtyard, daily excursions. Room amenities: Air conditioning, day bed, desk.
Alsisar Mahal lies in the old fort situated in the village of Alsisar. Furnished and decorated in a style which recalls the grandeur of a bygone era, this is a heritage property which provides guests with a true Rajasthani experience.
