The Indian Odyssey is just one of five different train journeys available aboard the Deccan Odyssey, one of India’s most luxurious trains. Day 1: Fly to Delhi

Overnight flight to Delhi. (N)

Day 2: Delhi

Arrive and transfer to the Trident Gurgaon in New Delhi for an overnight stay. (N)

Day 3: Board the Deccan Odyssey

This evening, join the Deccan Odyssey for a 7-night journey. (B, D)

Day 4: Ranthambore

Arrive in Ranthambore and venture out on an early morning wildlife safari. In the afternoon, enjoy a village tour. After high tea at Sawai Madhopur Lodge, the train will continue onwards to Agra. (B, L, D)

Day 5: Agra

Arrive into Agra, the former Mughal capital. Visit the majestic Taj Mahal and other architectural gems of the Mughal empire including the Agra Fort. (B, L, D)

Day 6: Jaipur

Explore the forts and palaces of the ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur, including a walk through the colourful bazaars. (B, L, D)

Day 7: Udaipur

Arrive into Udaipur this morning and visit the magnificent City Palace complex. Later, take a boat ride on Lake Pichola. In the afternoon, enjoy a heritage walk through the markets of Udaipur. (B, L, D)

Day 8: Vadodara

Arrive in Vadodara. Visit the world heritagerecognised Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park, the Jami Masjid mosque and the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum. Later today, enjoy a folk dance performance and dine on an array of delicacies from the royal kitchens at the Laxmi Vilas Palace. (B, L, D)

Day 9: Aurangabad • Ellora cave temples

Morning arrival in Aurangabad and spend some time at leisure. In the afternoon, visit the world heritage-listed Ellora cave temples: rock cut shrines that represent Buddhist, Hindu and Jain forms of art. (B, L, D)

Day 10: Disembark in Mumbai

Morning arrival in Mumbai (Bombay), where you will disembark. Continue to The Trident Mumbai for an overnight stay. (B)

Day 11: Fly home

Overnight journeys:

The train travels between towns during early mornings and late evenings, allowing guests to see the scenery as the train cuts across the Indian countryside; however, on certain days there are overnight journeys to cover the distances while on other days some overnight travel is essential to follow the schedule as per the requirements of the Indian Railways.
