Luxury Private Tour in brief

Day 1: Fly To Delhi.

Day 2: Delhi

Morning arrival and transfer to the Oberoi New Delhi for 2 nights. Afternoon tour of Old Delhi, where you will find the mighty Mughal-built Red Fort, the vast Jama Masjid Mosque and, between the two, the bustling lanes of Chandni Chowk where a bewildering array of wares are traded. (N)

Day 3: Delhi

Morning tour of New Delhi. Continue to the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun and the Qutb Minar tower. Afternoon at leisure. (B)

Day 4: Agra

Morning transfer to Agra. Stay 2 nights at the Oberoi Amarvilãs (Premier room). This hotel enjoys an unrivalled position just 600 metres from the Taj Mahal. Afternoon tour of Agra fort and the tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah. (B)

Day 5: Agra

This morning you will be taken to the Taj Mahal, built as a monument of eternal love by Shah Jahan to his bride Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal looks amazingly graceful from almost any angle and was built over a period of 20 years by 20,000 labourers and artisans. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy the facilities in the hotel. (B)

Day 6: Ranthambore National Park

Travel to Ranthambore for 2 nights in a luxury tent at the Oberoi Vanyavila?s, an idyllic retreat set in landscaped gardens. (B, D)

Day 7: Ranthambore National Park

Early morning and late afternoon wildlife drives in search of the park’s native tigers. (B, L, D)

Day 8: Jaipur

Drive to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri. Designed in 1571 as a tribute to the Sufi saint, Sheikh Salim Christi, Fatehpur Sikri was the capital of the Mughals for 14 years until it was deserted owing to the scarcity of water in the region. Stay 3 nights at the Oberoi Rajvilãs (Premier Room), set in a 12-hectare oasis of landscaped gardens filled with exotic birdlife. (B)

Day 9: Jaipur

Morning visit to Jaipur City Palace, which is still the home of the Maharaja of Jaipur. On show at the palace are an extensive collection of art, carpets, textiles and weapons; all beautifully preserved. Optional high tea at the sumptuous Rambagh Palace. (B)

Day 10: Jaipur

Morning tour of Amber Fort. Located on a hill 11km north of Jaipur, Amber was the capital of the Kachhawa Rajputs from 1037 until the Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh founded Jaipur in 1727; the majestic fort-palace began construction in 1600. Afternoon at leisure in Jaipur. (B).

Day 11: Gurgaon

Fly to Delhi and transfer to the Oberoi Gurgaon for 1 night, with time to relax at the hotel. (B)

Day 12: Fly home
