Day 1: Fly to Kochi (N) Day 2: Kochi

Arrive in Kochi and transfer to the Forte Kochi for a 2-night stay. In the afternoon enjoy a traditional Kathakali dance performance. The performances are based on the three major Hindu epics, acted out with elaborate hand gestures, facial expressions and choreographed movements. (B)

Day 3: Kochi

Explore Fort Kochi and the Mattancherry Palace. A stroll through the port city will allow you to immediately observe the influence that Portuguese, Dutch and British colonisation has had on the architecture of the buildings. Mattancherry Palace features some of Kerala’s finest paintings. (B)

Day 4: Munnar

Travel into the Cardamom Hills for a 2-night stay at Windermere Estate. (B)

Day 5: Munnar

Guided walk of the Windermere Estate. A guided walk through the estate allows you to experience the impressive mountains and the extraordinary flora and fauna it has to offer. The walk is 4 km long and the normal duration is around two hours. (B)

Day 6: Pollachi

Transfer to Coco Lagoon for a 2-night stay. (B)

Excursions in the local area include following the Cotton Trail, visiting the Temple of Consciousness – centre of yoga practice inspired by the Yogic Vethathiri Maharishi, or the rolling scenic hills of Valparai. (B)

Day 8: Nilambur

Explore the rubber and teak plantations at Nilambur and learn about the importance of both for the region’s economic stability. Nilambur is home to the oldest teak plantation in the world. Overnight stay at Maranat Mana – a traditional Brahmin household. (B, L, D)

Day 9: Wayanad

Travel to Kerala’s green paradise for 2 nights at Tranquil – A Plantation Hideaway. The property is set amongst 400 acres of picturesque coffee and vanilla plantation and complete with numerous walking. (B)

Day at leisure to enjoy the Hideaway’s facilities. (B)

Day 11: Kodagu (Coorg)

Delve deeper into the Western Ghats with 2 nights at Evolve Back, Coorg. Kodagu is located in a beautiful hill region most of which is between 3,000 and 4,000 feet high. (B)

Visit Bylakuppe Tibetan Settlement, which is the largest Tibetan settlement in south India, and the second largest outside Tibet. Enjoy a coracle ride on River Cauvery or take part in a variety of nature and village walks. (B)

Day 13: Kasargod

Travel to Kasargod for 3 nights at the Neeleshwar Hermitage. (B)

Days 14-15: Bekal

Days at leisure. (B)

Day 16: Fly home via Mumbai (Bombay)

    The Windermere Estate is where the manicured tea garden merges with the lush green forests of Munnar. The property features 18 double rooms, a communal lounge and a dining room serving a table d'hote menu. The atmosphere is more that of a simple charming retreat rather than a hotel, and from here you can explore the 24 hectares of lush greenery, which comprises the Windermere Cardamom Estate. Alcohol is currently not available at this hotel.

    Set among 400 acres of picturesque coffee and vanilla plantation, Tranquil - A Plantation Hideaway is a plantation bungalow that has been beautifully restored. The guest bungalow has 6 spacious, simply furnished bedrooms with ensuite facilities. This delightful homestay also has a sturdy tree house, entirely constructed from natural materials with bamboo woven walls, coffee roots for tables and shelves, and a branch growing inside.     Neeleshwar Hermitage

    Neeleshwar Hermitage, a delightful retreat set among acres of coconut palms and gardens, was the first superior first-class resort to open on the beaches of northern Kerala. All the palm thatched cottages, built according to the traditional architectural principles of Kerala Vastu, overlook either the landscaped garden or the unspoilt beach and have their own courtyard garden. The cottages are spacious, airy and beautifully designed with polished wood pillars and stone bathrooms with state of the art fixtures and fittings. The Neeleshwar Hermitage currently does not have a licence to serve alcoholic drinks.
