Arrive in Kolkata (Calcutta) and transfer to The Oberoi Grand for 2 nights. In the afternoon explore the city on a guided tour and visit the Indian Museum - the oldest and largest in India, the Victoria Memorial, the gothic St Paul's Cathedral and the Marble Palace. (N)
In the morning, visit Kolkata's colourful and bustling flower markets where huge volumes of freshly cut flowers are traded on a daily basis. Continue with a cruise down the Hooghly river to see the temples, ghats and markets that line the riverbank. The boat ride is on a private basis. (B)
Take a morning flight to Dimapur and transfer to Kohima to stay for 4 nights at The Kohima Camp*, Nagaland. The camp offers luxurious tented accommodation set at the foothills of the picturesque Japfu Mountain. Spend the afternoon relaxing in the camp. (B, D)
Morning visit to Kisama village for the Hornbill festival, often described as the 'Festival of Festivals' where 16 different tribes showcase the various aspects of Naga life. Return to the camp for lunch and spend
the afternoon at leisure or visit Kohima to soak up

Return to the Hornbill festival for another opportunity to get a glimpse of modernity and the effects of economic growth on the lives of some of the tribal communities. Return to the camp for lunch and in the afternoon visit the Kigwema village, part of the Angami tribe. (B, L, D)
Morning guided tour of Kohima, including the Second World War cemetery and the state museum which houses a rare collection of historic artefacts from the different tribes of Nagaland. Proceed to Khonoma village for a traditional lunch and brief village tour before spending your last evening in camp relaxing. (B, L, D)
Fly to Kolkata and overnight at The Oberoi Grand. (B)
