The Tripura Castle Royal Heritage has the distinction of being the first Heritage Hotel in the North East of India. Spread over 9 acres of forest, the property (previously known as Cromeen) was established by the young Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya Deb Burman of Tripura. An annex of the Tripura Castle, and home of the Manikya Dynasty, the Royal Heritage is situated in one of the most serene and environmentally friendly locales of Shillong. Entering the Royal heritage is like stepping back into an era of old world charm, while there is certainly nothing dated about this regal, yet homely hotel with its unique atmosphere. Each room has been elegantly refurbished and reflects the quiet and dignified luxury of the past, with its warm wood interiors, brass fireplace and art deco furniture. All guest-rooms have attached bathroom, running hot and cold water, cable television with video-recorder and the he hotel also features a Tea Lounge, Mezzanine Bar, Billiard room and Professionally run Therapy Centre featuring holistic & indigenous herbal treatments.
