Originally built by the Maharaja of Karauli, Ramathra Fort is the ancestral home of Ravi and Gitaniali who lovingly resorted the property into the wonderful heritage hotel that it is today. Located just south of the golden triangle in the princely state of Karauli, it is a 4-hour drive from Jaipur and just 2 hours from Sawai Madhopur en route to Agra.
The hotel has six suites and six luxury tents, all with views over the magnificent countryside of Rajasthan. Each suite features its own bedroom, an elegant sitting area with a fireplace, custom furnishings and a private terrace or open courtyard. The six luxury tents, set against the fort's rampart walls surrounding a courtyard, have a spacious interior with a sleeping chamber, a sitting room, a private bathhouse attached and a private porch furnished with a table and chairs. There are no televisions or electronic equipment in the tents.
The original horse stables have been transformed into comfortable seating areas; the well stocked bar offers a variety of soft drinks, beers, wines and spirits and the dining room, serving delicious regional fare using farm-fresh seasonal produce, is the best place in the hotel for eating, drinking and socialising.
