Accommodation rating: Good Standard

Built over a period of ten years, this early 20th century mansion now converted into a heritage hotel consists of a vast reception room and series of courtyards surrounded by rooms and a kitchen. The rooms housed on the first floor are simply furnished, but the use of materials like Burmese teak, granite and Italian marble together with the ornate carvings on doors and the highly polished plaster, make it obvious that these mansions were built with the best materials the world could provide at that time. All 11 rooms share a long balcony and other facilities include a dining area and an outdoor swimming pool. The food served is traditional Indian and is straight out of a real Chettinad kitchen.
