Fly to Delhi

Fly to Paro • Thimphu
Morning flight to Paro, sitting on the left side of the plane for the best views. Meet your guide and drive to Thimphu. Afternoon at leisure. Stay 3 nights at Six Senses Thimpu. (B, L, D)
Thimphu
Sightseeing in Thimphu including the Tashichho dzong and the National Memorial Chorten. Continue to the arts and crafts school, the institute of traditional medicine, a traditional papermaking factory and the textile museum. (B, L, D)
Thimphu
Follow the 2-hour Sangaygang – Wangditse walking loop through blue pine and rhododendron until you reach Wangditse monastery. (B, L, D)
Punakha
Travel to Punakha via the stunning Dochula Pass, stopping at the 15th-century Chimmi Lhakhang; the trail takes 30 minutes and passes through the farmlands of Lobesa village, rice fields and orchards. This evening, visit Punakha dzong, built in 1637, in time for the evening prayers. Stay 2 nights at the Six Senses Punakha. (B, L, D)
Punakha
Take a picnic and explore the trail to Khamsum chorten through farmland and local villages. If visiting on a Saturday, visit the Punakha weekend market. Alternatively, head up the Mo Chu valley to the Nalanda Buddhist Institute and Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Lhakhang Nunnery to enjoy the views and meet with local monks and nuns. (B, L, D)
Paro
Travel to Paro enjoying the 3-hour walk along the Choedin village loop, visiting the Drugyel dzong en route. Spend 3 nights at Six Senses Paro, located in the beautiful Neyphu valley, a 25-minute drive from Paro. (B, L, D)
Paro
Hike to the Taktshang monastery (Tiger’s Nest), a trip of around 5 hours. En route, enjoy stunning views of the monastery. (B, L, D)
Paro
Visit the remote Haa valley, enjoying a picnic lunch by the river and wandering through the local villages and markets. The Chele Pass offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks including Jumolhari. Alternatively, discover the beautiful Neyphu valley; take a refreshing hike, have a picnic with a scenic view of the valley, visit the friendly neighbouring student monks, or play some Bhutanese darts (kuru) and practice archery.
