Arrive in Hanoi and transfer to the Hanoi La
Siesta Hotel (Club Duplex Suite, a 4-berth
split-level apartment) for 2 nights. (N)
Visit a morning market with a local chef to
buy ingredients, then learn how to prepare
traditional Vietnamese cuisine in a hands-on
cooking class. (B, L)
Drive to Halong Bay and board one of the
Bhaya Legend’s fleet (private 2-cabin boat)
for your tailor-made exploration of the bay and its islands. Discover fishing villages and
limestone grottoes, kayak and swim in the
bay, go squid fishing, try tai chi or just relax
on board and enjoy the scenery. (B, L, D)
Disembark and drive to Hanoi airport for a
short flight to Danang on the Vietnamese
coast. Transfer to Hoi An and stay at the
Boutique Hoi An Resort (2-bedroom Beach
Villa) for 3 nights, a beachfront property with
a range of facilities. Optional activities include
a visit to a fishing village where you can
paddle boats and learn to fish, or cycle into
the countryside to spend time with a farming
family and learn about local village life. (B)
Fly to Siem Reap, Cambodia, and transfer to
the Heritage Suites Hotel (2 adjacent Classic
Rooms) for 3 nights. Explore the Angkor
Wat temples either by bike or with a car and
driver, take a cruise on Tonle Sap lake, and
enjoy a show at Phare Ponleu Selpak circus.
Alternatively, a luxury private tent can be
set up for your family near a remote temple,
in the jungle or on a Mekong river island, complete with separate bathroom facilities
including a flush toilet and washbasin
