The RV Angkor Pandaw originally operated on the Mekong river but in 2015 was transferred to the Red River in north Vietnam. The Pandaw fleet of river cruisers are expedition ships that are replicas of colonial-period river steamers and are finished in teak and brass in a 1920s style. With their ultra-shallow draft it is possible for the cruiser to journey into more remote areas on the Mekong that are otherwise inaccessible to other travellers. The RV Angkor Pandaw has 10 main deck and six upper deck staterooms, all with teak fittings, air conditioning, en suite bathrooms and private balconies. The spacious open-air lounge is open to the river breeze during the day and at night, and meals are served in an air-conditioned panorama dining room. The atmosphere on board is convivial and there are no formal dinners. Cuisine is a mixture of Asian and European, served under the supervision of an expatriate purser and chef.
