The Hotel Royal Hoi An – MGallery by Sofitel, is set on the banks of Thu Bon river next to the Ancient District. Rooms and suites are set over two wings, the Sotaro Wing and the Wakaku Wing, taking their names from the Japanese merchant Sotaro Araki and the Vietnamese Princess Wakaku, whose marriage in the 16th century is regarded as the first between a Vietnamese and foreigner. A blend of Japanese tradition and Indochinese luxury is apparent in the design and decor of both wings. The theme is continued in the cuisine on offer at the hotel’s two restaurants, which includes the finest sushi and a range of authentic Vietnamese dishes.
