The Heart of Thailand

Journey into the heart of Thailand, from the bustle of the city and the wild of the jungle to the soothing susurrus of the coast. You begin with the treasures of Bangkok, including the Grand Palace, both the Emerald and Reclining Buddhas, and the Jim Thompson House, which overspills with antiques and curios. Head from the bright lights into the lush greenery of Khao Yai to search for elephant, then step back in time in the old UNESCO-listed capital, Ayutthaya. The more recent, poignant past is preserved in Kanchanaburi, where you visit the Bridge over River Kwai. Your adventure is rounded off in cloistered comfort, at an eco-retreat in Samut Songkhram, and by the sea in palm-fringed Hua Hin.
