Visit Mae Sai, a small trading town at the northernmost border between Thailand and Burma, and cross the Sai river into Thachilek on the Burmese side and see local life in a nearby village. Take a rickshaw to explore the town and its Shan-style temple and then ride through the lanes and small side streets. End your morning at the local market, famous for its products from southern China, Burma, and Laos. After lunch at a local restaurant, proceed to the famous Golden Triangle, where the borders of Thailand, Burma and Laos converge. Take a long-tail boat on the Mekong river and enjoy the scenery, ruins and temples.
