Today you will have time to explore the East Rift Valley with a private guide and vehicle, an area home to some of Taiwan’s aboriginal groups including the Amis, the Kavalan and the Bunun. Visits include the National Museum of Prehistory, the Bunun Tribal Leisure Farm and the Luye Plateau. (B)

Take a day trip with your guide by ferry to Green Island, 33km off the coast near Taitung, which has some of Taiwan’s most beautiful scenery and a rugged terrain created by ancient volcanic activity. Tour around the island by private vehicle and walk along coastal trails and visit the Green Island Lighthouse for views out over the Pacific Ocean. (B)
