Built in 1887, Raffles is a landmark hotel in Singapore. Renowned as one of the world's great hotels, Somerset Maugham once called it the symbol of 'all fables of the East'. The hotel has 103 suites and is home to the largest collection of oriental carpets in the world and some fine antiques. Stay in one of the 10 personality suites, once occupied by the likes of Charlie Chaplin, Somerset Maugham and Ava Gardner, enjoy a Singapore Sling in the famous Long Bar, relax in the lavish Amrita Spa or visit the hotel's fine restaurants and designer shops. Features: 103 suites, spa. gym, outdoor pool, 3 restaurants, 2 bars. Room amenities: Television, Wi-Fi, pillow menu, coffee/tea maker, slippers. Please note: The hotel is due to undergo renovations from 16th January 2017 until November 2017 and then will be closed between November 2017 and May 2018. It is anticipated that between January 2017 and July 2017 the Raffles Arcade, Long Bar, LongBar Steakhouse, Raffles Courtyard and Ah Teng's Bakery will be closed. The same facilities will be closed between July 2017 and November 2017. The main building will also be closed and therefore hotel check in will be moved to the East India Rooms. Guests will be able to use the fitness centre and spa facilities at the Fairmont Singapore, which is located across the road.
