Osaka is western Japan’s commercial hub. Situated at the mouth of the Yodo river and with a network of canals, it is regarded as a more laid-back and lively city than Tokyo. Its attractions include the domineering white Osaka castle, Osaka Bay and the Umeda and Namba entertainment districts.
