The Gion Yoshiima Ryokan is a traditional Japanese inn located in the Gion district of Kyoto, which has welcomed guests since 1747. Shinmonzen Street, in front of the ryokan, has many art galleries and antique shops selling Imari pottery and woodblock prints, whilst to the rear is Shinbashi Street, a preservation area with buildings notable for their fine wooden lattice work.Traditional Japanese breakfast and dinner are included, and are taken in your room. Tea ceremonies by candle light are held three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday) from mid-March to November, hosted by an expert tea master with English translation.
